Jean-François Kervégan is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Honorary Senior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France. His research focuses on classical German philosophy, classical and contemporary philosophy of law and the theory of normativity. His publications include Explorations allemandes (CNRS Éditions, 2019) ; Hegel et l'hégélianisme (PUF, coll. " Que Sais-Je ? ", 2017,3rd ed.) ; La Raison des normes. Essai sur Kant (Vrin, 2015) ; Que faire de Carl Schmitt ? (Gallimard, 2011) ; L'Effectif et le Rationnel. Hegel et l'esprit objectif (Vrin, 2020,2nd ed) ; Hegel, Carl Schmitt (PUF, 2005,2nd ed). He has also translated Hegel's Principles of the Philosophy of Law (PUF, 2013,2nd ed) and edited or co-edited some twenty books.
