Historian Christophe Prochasson is Director of Studies at EHESS, an institution he chaired from 2017 to 2022. He has published numerous articles and books on the political and intellectual history of socialism, including several on the history of the French reception of Marx's writings. At EHESS, he co-leads a seminar on the history of socialism with Frédéric Brahami. He is also interested in the history of intellectuals, the socio-cultural history of the 3rd Republic and the socio-cultural history of the First World War. He is notably the author of Les Intellectuels et le socialisme (Plon, 1997), Saint-Simon ou l'anti-Marx (Perrin, 2005), La Gauche est-elle morale ? ( Flammarion, 2010). His latest work was published in 2019 by Fayard : Voyage d'un historien à l'intérieur de l'État. He edits the journal Mil neuf cent. Revue d'histoire intellectuelle.
