Abstract

The management and use of international waters can be a source of tension and conflict. Diplomacy can help resolve them and find lasting solutions. The " hydro-diplomacy " aims at the best possible management of international rivers and the prevention of disputes. The concept of " hydro-diplomacy " will be presented, as well as the role it can play in contexts of asymmetry of interests and powers between riparian states of a transboundary water resource. The analysis will be based on river basins such as the Nile, Euphrates and Jordan.
