This meeting will consider architectural research as a field of scientific work, in which numerous disciplines operate around a common object. The growth of this research in France has paralleled that of the renewed architecture that has emerged since the mid-1960s, when the Ministry of Cultural Affairs created an Office for Architectural Creation.
The aim is to examine the ways in which research has emerged and been consolidated in original ways, notably under the aegis of Corda, created in 1971, and successive programs, right up to those of the current Bureau de la recherche architecturale, urbaine et paysagère, and to engage in an international exchange of views on future directions in this field.
The work of the schools of architecture and the university teams with which they are associated will be compared with that of European researchers, academics and architects.
With the scientific partnership of the Bureau de la recherche architecturale, urbaine et paysagère, of the Direction de l'architecture, Ministry of Culture and Communication.
