Joan Ballester
Joan Ballester is an Associate Research Professor at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal). Dr. Ballester is leading the ERC Consolidator grant EARLY-ADAPT, which studies the early adaptation response of European societies to climate change in the area of human health. He is particularly interested in the predictability of the climate system, and how epidemiological models can transform it into fit-for-purpose health early warning systems, increasing societal awareness and resilience, especially among the most vulnerable population groups. His research spans across the areas of climate, air pollution, environmental epidemiology and social sciences.
