Nathalie Boulanger

Nathalie Boulanger is a medical entomologist, leading a research team on tick-borne vector-borne diseases; she is a member of the Centre national de référence Borrelia. After a PhD in Switzerland (malaria), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in the USA (immunology), she joined the University of Strasbourg. She first worked on the innate immunity of insect vectors, then on Lyme borreliosis. Her research focuses on the role of the skin in vector-borne diseases. She is also interested in the impact of anthropization on tick-borne diseases. They are involved in a number of public health missions to help prevent these diseases.
