Abstract

Abortion is a major cause of mortality and morbidity in countries where it is prohibited or severely restricted. Although abortion no longer poses health problems in France, some women still have difficulty accessing the health care system, and others have to travel abroad to terminate a pregnancy they do not wish to continue. The right to abortion continues not to be recognized as a right like any other, despite its recent inclusion in the French Constitution. Quantitative and qualitative survey data will be used to examine the social injunction of guilt and its repercussions on women's health.
