Meeting with restaurateurs Klaus Lorenz and Catherine Oudouin Lorenz

In an interview, restorers Klaus Lorenz and Catherine Oudouin Lorenz retrace their career, their experiences and the work they have carried out on some of the Collège de France's objects. From the former East Germany to the USA, they have worked on automata and steam engines alike. They have used their skills to restore scientific tools from the collections of Étienne-Jules Marey and Arsène d'Arsonval. The interview is also an opportunity to look in greater depth at the vision they have developed of their profession and how it influences their practices.
