The Centre for Tibetan Studies at the Collège de France, founded by Professor Rolf Alfred Stein in March 1974, celebrated its fiftieth anniversary. An afternoon of celebrations was held on Wednesday December 11 at the Institute of Civilizations, focusing on the theme of Tibetan mural paintings.

After a retrospective of the center's history, one of the Tibetan Studies Library's flagship acquisitions, the sumo-format book Murals of Tibet (Taschen, 2018), was presented, along with all recent acquisitions in this field of art history, which, along with religion and history, are the main areas of specialization of this research library.
