The metals industry in the age of sustainable development

The seminar provided an opportunity to synthesize a number of viewpoints: business, professional organizations, public consultation structures and the Republic's consultative assembly (CESE: Conseil économique, social et environnemental). The presentation showed how only an integrated approach to sustainable development can ensure the success of a mining project. It also showed the specific nature of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the mining sector, with the emergence of new responsibilities and the significant modification of dialogues between the various partners.
