Resource quality and usage requirements : the example of ceramic minerals

In keeping with the spirit of the Sustainable Development Chair, I felt it was important to bring in complementary viewpoints from industry and institutional circles. This first seminar was devoted to the importance of raw materials in the manufacture of domestic ceramics. It highlighted the importance of the qualitative aspects of the materials produced, enabling them to retain their fields of application in a context of growing competition between different materials, and above all to find new sectors of application. The constraints and potential of raw materials have a direct influence on technological development.
