Archaeologist Jean Starcky (1909-1988) carried out extensive research in the Near East, was a war chaplain, a Compagnon de la Libération and translated Dead Sea Scrolls, among other activities. From this multi-faceted life, an important archive remains, initially deposited in the Assyriology and West Semitic Studies Library, whose inventory is now available online.
