JapanKnowledge online resource base expands

 Great Dictionary of Modern Japanese Literature

The Great Dictionary of Modern Japanese Literature, Revised and Expanded Digital Edition and the Yuhikaku Dictionary of Psychology have been added to the JapanKnowledge Lib database accessible via OMNIA, the library and archive portal of the Collège de France.

The Great Dictionary of Modern Japanese Literature is edited and published by the Museum of Modern Japanese Literature. JapanKnowledge has digitized the edition published by Kodansha in 1984. The edition consists of six volumes. Volumes 1 to 3 include a biographical dictionary (5170 entries). Volume 4 (660 entries) covers literary events, controversies etc. of the modern Japanese era, as well as foreign literature. Volume 5 is a dictionary of newspapers and magazines (1600 entries), focusing on literary magazines, tanka and haiku, etc. Volume 6 contains an index and an exhaustive list of various literary series, as well as the history of publishing in the modern era.

The Yuhikaku Dictionary of Psychology is the corrected version of the edition published in 1999. The dictionary consists of three parts (5200 entries).

The online version on JapanKnowledge can be searched using the words indexed below the main text, and contains an alphabetically ordered list of quotations and bibliographical references, as well as videos.
