Eva Nielsen was born in France in 1983. She lives and works in Paris. She is represented by Galerie Dominique Fiat. She won the Prix Thaddaeus Ropac in 2009 and the Art Collector prize in 2013. A Franco-Danish painter, she creates her paintings from silkscreen prints on canvas, then reworks these often architectural structures in oils, creating uncertain spaces. Playing on the heterogeneous nature of the resulting image, her painting is like an intimate fusion of photographic appearances and oil paint.
