Henry Laurens
Henry Laurens holds an agrégation in history and a diploma in Arabic literature from the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (Inalco), as well as a doctorate. He is a professor at the Collège de France, where he has held the Contemporary History of the Arab World chair since 2013. He also teaches at Inalco. Henry Laurens is a member of the editorial board of Maghreb-Machrek magazine. He is a member of the High Council of the Arab World Institute. Winner of the 2004 Prix Joseph du Theil from the Académie des sciences morales et politiques, he is the author of numerous works, including a three-volume history of Palestine: La question de Palestine. Vol. I: L'invention de la Terre sainte, Paris, Fayard, 1999; vol. II: Une mission sacrée de civilisation, Fayard, 2002; vol. III: L'Accomplissement des prophéties, Fayard, 2007.
