Antoine Compagnon
Antoine Compagnon is Professor Emeritus of the Collège de France, holding the Chair of Modern and Contemporary French Literature, and Professor at Columbia University (New York). He is a historian of French literature, novelist and critic, author of Le Démon de la théorie(Seuil, 1998), Les Antimodernes, de Joseph de Maistre à Roland Barthes(Gallimard, 2005), Baudelaire l'irréductible(Flammarion, 2014) and Les Chiffonniers de Paris(Gallimard, 2017).
