In recent decades, the figure of liquidity has come to the fore to describe various contemporary phenomena (globalization, financialization, migration, information and communication technologies, etc.) What is the genealogy of this metaphorization? What are the conflicts of definition and apprehension of this image, between containment and runoff, immersion and shipwreck? What do these metaphorical registers and their associated narrative schemes say and hide?
