Can cytomegalovirus help us understand γ/δ T cells ?

Julie Dechanet-Merville has demonstrated the importance of the response of γ/δ T lymphocyte subpopulations during CMV infection, particularly in transplant patients. She has characterized these populations and is now seeking to identify the activating ligands, with a view to developing immunotherapy strategies not only for CMV infection, but also in other contexts of γ/δ T lymphocyte activation, such as certain cancers.
