Abstract
Using Jean Rouch's work as a starting point, explore the gaps where reason finds its way out. Drawing on Henry Corbin'snotion of the imaginal, enter into the cadence between waking and sleeping to see the interstice where writing meets its fantasy. What writing owes to what we call drift. Slow variation of a greatness. What is an Annunciation ? When the Angel announces to the Other " you carry within you the shadow that will write in you. " What this shadow has of monstrous and sublime, and what writing reveals of the horrors of the writer.
