This lecture presents models of brain tumor growth based on a geometric model of brain anatomy, a biomechanical tissue model and a macroscopic pathophysiological model of tumor cell proliferation and migration. The lecture presents algorithms for identifying the parameters of these models from temporal sequences of medical images, and their use in quantifying evolution, predicting evolution and optimizing radiotherapy. The lecture also presents the use of biophysical models to simulate medical images of tumors. A final example presents the modeling of thermal transport in the context of radiofrequency ablation of liver tumors, taking into account the personalized vascularization of the organ.

This lecture is complemented by the following two seminars:

- "Image-guided neurosurgery", Emmanuel Mandonnet (Hôpital Lariboisière);

- Image-guided radiotherapy", Jocelyne Troccaz (TIMC Grenoble).
