Abstract
In this fourth lecture, after a brief general review of intestinal organoids and their use as models of pathological conditions, we discuss the origin, manufacture and utility of cerebral organoids or " mini-brains ". These organoids are complex to produce and heterogeneous. The use of these " brains in vivo " is described in the context of pathologies associated with brain development, as well as certain cancers affecting cells of the central nervous system :
- brain organoids ;
- neuron organization, frequency, probability ;
- manufacture and use in basic research ;
- mini-brains as models of microcephaly ;
- in vitro brain tumors.
