Agir pour l'éducation - Reenchanting maths at school

A series of conferences on mathematicsorganized by Stanislas Dehaene, Stéphane Mallat and Pierre-Michel Mengeras part of the Agir pour l'éducationinitiative . Notoriously difficult, but also a source of beauty, mystery and enthusiasm, mathematics is losing interest among many students. Even more worrying is the fact that, over the past thirty years or so, surveys have shown a steady decline in student performance, particularly in numeracy and problem-solving, which, according to the TIMSS survey, now places France at the bottom of the European league table.

The Comédie-Française at the Collège de France

The Collège de France and the Comédie-Française are organizing a series of seven meetings during which professors and actors will discuss the science of theater, what it means to play, to direct, to say verse and prose, to embody life and society, to take to the stage to speak of the world and to the world.

Exhibition

" Wines, oils and perfumes : an archaeological journey around the ancient Mediterranean

From October 28, 2024 to January 31, 2025, the exhibition "Wines, Oils and Perfumes: An Archaeological Journey Around the Ancient Mediterranean" presents numerous objects from the Louvre's Department of Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities, as well as archaeological discoveries from major sites in Roman Gaul, Italy, Greece and Egypt, at two Collège de France sites, Marcelin Berthelot and Cardinal Lemoine (Institute of Civilizations).

From October 28, 2024 to January 31, 2025 at the Collège de France and the Institute of Civilizations.

Free conferences, open to the public without reservation, are offered to extend the discovery of the exhibition:

Opening lecture

This lesson will explore recent advances in the field of biopolymers, in particular biomimetic and biohybrid polymers.

"Random geometries and applications" - Nalini Anantharaman

This symposium will provide a non-exhaustive overview of random geometries, covering aspects ranging from the most abstract to concrete applications in imaging and telecommunications.
