Abstract

Having withstood the crisis linked to the COVID-2019 pandemic, the comics market enjoyed two record years in 2020 and 2021, buoyed by the explosion of the manga segment, which now accounts for more than one in two comics sold in France. Drawing on the latest studies and an analysis of sales figures, this talk will detail the various trends and dynamics driving the market, and address both the challenges and the opportunities they represent for creation and its players.
