Abstract
In the last ten years, machine learning systems have seen a spectacular increase in performance in fields where massive data is available, such as computer vision and language processing, but also when data can be manufactured by simulation, as in strategic games. The presentation will briefly outline the mechanisms behind these successes, and discuss how they can be applied to medical image analysis.
