Abstract

Most scenarios developed to limit global warming involve negative emissions, i.e. the sequestration of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. In this context, ecosystems, which currently absorb almost a quarter of our emissions, represent one of the most promising solutions for increased sequestration. The aim of the presentation will be to provide an overview of the various nature-based solutions that can be implemented for carbon mitigation, their potential, but also their limitations and possible risks, particularly in relation to other ecosystem services.
