Silicon Valley is one of the most innovative regions in the world. The keys to technical and industrial innovation in Silicon Valley lie in three factors: colossal investments, often from the rest of the United States and abroad; a highly specific institutional landscape; and a wealth and diversity of technical and managerial skills.

Christophe Lecuyer is a former student at the École normale supérieure (Ulm) and professor at Sorbonne University. He is interested in the history of computing and microelectronics, particularly in the United States and Japan.
