Rémi Brague is a French philosopher, historian of philosophy, connoisseur of Greek philosophy and specialist in medieval Jewish and Arab philosophies. Since 2009, he has been a member of the Institut de France, elected to the Philosophy section of the Académie des sciences morales et politiques. He was also elected member of the Académie catholique de France in 2009 and corresponding member of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences in 2021. In 2022, he was promoted to the rank of Officier de l'Ordre National du Mérite.
