Abstract
Stephan Grill's seminar presented experiments on oogenesis and cell fate in the gonad of the C. elegans worm. The experiments show that the decision on cell fate is purely mechanical and associated with cell size. To explain these experiments, S. Grill presented a purely hydraulic model based on fluid flow in the gonad.
