Abstract
In his seminar, Arezki Boudaoud discussed the coupling between mechanics and growth in plant cells, both theoretically and experimentally. He clearly showed the differences between animal cells and plant cells, which have a cell wall and a high internal pressure called the " turgor pressure ". Experimentally, he demonstrated turgor pressure measurements by atomic force microscopy. Theoretically, he presented his work on growth heterogeneity and the origin of growth fluctuations.
