The starting point for this conference is a relatively simple question: how can we move from the injunction to innovate to an effective capacity to innovate? To answer this question, Joelle Forest proposes to consider the relationship between innovation models and action. While we talk about innovation, we don't seem to be able to innovate in our way of thinking about innovation. Joelle Forest explains, however, that if we agree to think of innovation in terms of design, we are led to uncover a form of thought repressed by history, namely creative rationality, a form of thought that invites adventurous transgression. Along the way, this conference examines the capacity of our education system to prepare us for this adventurous transgression.
