The concept of revolution is based on specific historical situations. It is a concept that makes it possible to think of a general phenomenon in history, which in turn encompasses several concrete national situations, having one or more elements in common. The conference traces the experiences on the basis of which the concept was built, in particular the English, American and French revolutions, as well as other revolutionary experiences, such as the democratic nobiliary revolution in Poland in 1791 or the Geneva revolution in 1782. The globalization of the concept is a direct consequence of the expatriation of the French revolution to Latin America, Asia and the Arab world. All forms of socialism in the 19thcentury , as well as the great communist revolutions between 1917 and 1949, have obviously revived and rejuvenated the debate around the concept of revolution.
