" Ancient authors report that Celtic peoples settled in vast areas of central and northern Italy (Gallia cisalpina). When and how did they arrive ? What relationship did they have with previous occupants (notably the Etruscans) ? Can we identify them and describe their civilization through texts and archaeology ?
