In his opening lecture on January 26, 2017, Philippe Manoury stated: "that knowledge of sound has often exerted a decisive influence on theories of composition", thereby emphasizing that compositional techniques are dependent, among other things, on knowledge of the sound phenomenon. From this point of view, we will try to understand how this knowledge, particularly that of sound descriptors, or audio descriptors, has recently been integrated into musical composition, and what possible consequences this may have for our conception of music and sound space.
