Nilüfer Göle
Professor of sociology and Director of Studies at the Raymond Aron Center for Sociological and Political Studies. A specialist in Turkish society and Islam, and in questions of gender, public space and modernities, her book Musulmanes et modernes, Voile et civilisation en Turquie (Paris, La Découverte, 1993) remains the basic reference on the question of gender and Islam in modern Turkey. She is the author of Interpénétrations, l'Islam et l'Europe (Paris, Galaade, 2005) and Musulmans au quotidien. Une enquête européenne sur les controverses autour de l'islam (Paris, La Découverte, 2015).
