Abstract

This lecture will present the contributions of Professor Brun's excavations to the history of crafts and techniques in the ancient Mediterranean. It will focus on the production of wine and olive oil in Gaul, leather in Pompeii, perfumes in Pompeii and Delos, and the history of trade in Roman Egypt. In conclusion, E. Botte will briefly present the work he is currently carrying out in Croatia, the ancient Roman province of Dalmatia during Antiquity, which, in line with Professor Brun's work, focuses on the production of wine, olive oil and beehive products.
