The seminar presented by Dr. Bence Viola (University of Toronto) detailed paleoanthropological discoveries at several sites in the Altai, a region that was a contact zone between Neanderthals and Denisovans. Recent work shows that Neanderthals extended their geographic range much further east than was long thought.
