Nutritional research helps to identify the factors to be favored or limited in order to maximize the health benefits of diet and physical activity practices. Careful monitoring of these factors at population level and for specific groups (according to age, socio-economic status, etc.) enables us to measure changes over time, and is necessary to guide public health action.
