This lecture will take a brief look at the history of infectious diseases in humans, and how we can use the tools of human genetics to better understand our differences in the face of infectious diseases - from predisposition to resistance to developing them. To this end, we'll look at several examples of genetic predisposition to infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis, malaria or COVID-19.
