Pierre Rondeau is a French economist specializing in the field of sport, and soccer in particular. After studying economics at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, he began a career as a professor of economics at various higher education establishments.
His interest in sports economics soon led him to specialize in this field. He has published several books and articles on soccer economics, including " Le foot va-t-il exploser " (2018) and " Fin de partie pour le foot ? " (2021).
In 2016, Pierre Rondeau put his teaching career on hold to enter the world of politics. He served as an economic advisor to the Socialist Party, first under François Hollande, then participating in Benoît Hamon's presidential campaign.
In 2018, Pierre Rondeau entered the world of the media. He became an expert columnist for the RMC-BFM group, then for the L'équipe channel. He is a regular commentator on sports business news.
Alongside his media activities, in 2018 Pierre Rondeau founded the Observatoire du Sport de la fondation Jean Jaurès. This observatory is tasked with studying the economic, social and political issues surrounding sport.
Pierre Rondeau is a guest speaker at the 2024 " Les Jeux au Collège de France " lecture series.
