Mark Freedland is Emeritus Professor of Employment Law at Oxford University, where he has taught employment law, international and European labor law, and comparative public law. He is Honorary Queen's Counsel and a Fellow of the British Academy.
An Emeritus Fellow in Law at St John's College, Professor Freedland has been Director of Studies in the Faculty of Law, Vice-Chairman of the University's Legal Studies Office and Director of the Institute of European and Comparative Law.
He has been a visiting professor at the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne and the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas, of which he holds an honorary doctorate. He currently holds an Honorary Professorship in the Faculty of Law at University College London.
He is the author of a number of books on labor law and public law. He recently edited a general treatise on employment contract law, due for publication in May 2016.
