Emre Onar graduated in political science from Marmara University in Istanbul. He then obtained a master's degree in history from Inalco and a university diploma in " Techniques documentaires et médiation culturelle " from the University of Paris-Nanterre. His research focuses on the history of education in the Ottoman Empire. He has worked at the Collège de France for the past eight years, where he is currently in charge of documentary resources in the Ottoman Library and participates in the activities of the Centre d'études ottomanes.
