Of Brazilian origin, Camila Perruso holds a Master 2 in Sustainable Development Law from the University of Paris (2012), a Mestrado (Master 2) in International Law from the University of São Paulo (2010) and a PhD from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in cotutelle with the University of São Paulo (2019), Camila Perruso was awarded the Sylff Research Abroad (2011-2012) and The Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund Program (2009- 2010). Her doctoral thesis entitled "Le droit à un environnement sain en droit international" was awarded the Prix Jacques-Mourgeon 2020 by the French Society for International Law.
During her PhD, Camila Perruso was a research associate at the Collège de France on the Anna Caroppo Fellowship from the Fondation du Collège de France (2018-2019); a teaching and research associate at the University of Paris (2015-2017); and in charge of coordinating the IdEx project "Corporate Social Responsibility: identifying and classifying legal tools" at the University of Strasbourg (2013-2015).
Since autumn 2019, Dr Camila Perruso has been an associate researcher with the International Law of Institutions chair and, from January 2022, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) on Pr Besson's "Institutionalizing the Human Right to Science" project (Swiss National Science Foundation, 2022-25). After a residency at the Institut d'études avancées de Nantes during the 2020-21 academic year, she completed a research stay at the Max-Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg in autumn 2021.
