The energy storage revolution, what impact for companies ? Jean-Marie Tarascon on June 16, 2016

" We are witnessing a revolution in energy storage ! " says Jean-Marie Tarascon, Professor at the Collège de France. A revolution that will have a major impact on tomorrow's industry and businesses. Without batteries, there would be no electric vehicles, no mass storage to compensate for the intermittent nature of renewable energies. Without supercapacitors, no ultra-fast charging for electronics or transport.

At the heart of the energy transition, energy storage is now entering a new era. Elon Musk has announced that his Gigafactory will produce more batteries by 2020 than all current manufacturers put together. This will bring about a revolution in terms of the volume produced, the cost of batteries and the question of their second life. A change of perspective that requires close collaboration with manufacturers.

Jean-Marie Tarascon and his guests will share their thoughts during this workshop, showing how researchers and manufacturers are kick-starting a world where connected objects and Big Data will become an integral part of tomorrow's battery business.
