Research on the Abbé Grégoire collection

Gabriel Darriulat holds a doctorate in philosophy, specializing in political philosophy in the Age of Enlightenment. He will join the Collège de France onOctober1 2024 as part of an annual post-doctoral contract co-financed with the Bibliothèque nationale de France, to work on the Abbé Grégoire collection. This collection, which includes a large number of documents relating to the memory of the slave trade, slavery and their abolition, comes from Abbé Henri Grégoire (1750-1831) and is held at the Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal. The research work, a presentation of which is available below, will be carried out under the joint responsibility of Pr Antoine Lilti and Olivier Bosc, Director of the Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal.
