The opening symposium 2024 of the Collège de France, to be held on October 17 and 18 from 9am to 5:30pm, aims to explore the relationship between Gender and Science from two different and complementary angles. Firstly, the aim is to bring together data and experiences from a variety of disciplines, to analyze the reasons behind women's participation - or lack of it - in research over the centuries, and the stereotypes that had to be - and still have to be - combated. This part of the meeting therefore concerns gender in science. It then looks at gender as an object of science and, after several decades of investigation in this field, gives a voice to the male and female researchers who have shaped and invested in it.
