Opening symposium 2024-2025

The opening symposium 2024 of the Collège de France aims to explore the relationship between gender and science from two different and complementary angles. Firstly, the aim is to bring together data and experiences from a wide range of disciplines, to analyze the reasons forwomen'sparticipation - or lack thereof - in research over the centuries, and the stereotypes that have had to be - and still have to - combated. This part of the meeting therefore concerns gender in science. It then addresses gender as an object of science and, after several decades of investigation in this field, gives a voice to the male and female researchers who have shaped and invested in it.
