Monday, April 2, 2012: Anatomy of a humanoid robot: the object lesson. Additional lecture by Pr Laumond

Colllège de France, 11 place Marcelin Berthelot, Amphithéâtre Maurice Halbwachs. 75005 Paris

This lecture will benefit from the presence of the humanoid robot HRP2 (1.54m, 58 kilos). A series of demonstrations will be carried out on the robot by several researchers from LAAS-CNRS in Toulouse. They will illustrate several fundamental concepts seen in previous lectures, such as the notion of configuration space, redundancy and sub-actuation of a system, bipedal locomotion and anthropomorphic action. It will conclude with a debate with the audience on the stakes and challenges of humanoid robotics.
