The lecture will address the various aspects of the power of divinity in its image in five sections:cult statues as a special group of statues of gods, rituals that emphasize the " vitality " of statues, the problem of the " aniconic " presentification of the divine, the semantics of the archaizing representation of gods on Greek vases, and Hera of Samos as a case study.

The proposed lecture series will touch on some of the most important areas of the Roman legal system, such as the law of civil liability, the allocation of risks in commercial activity, the verification of mens rea in criminal cases, parental rights and responsibilities and, more generally, the penetration of scientific trends within the court of justice.
