Racial Borders
Border control has become a major political issue in many countries, raising moral questions about the treatment of refugees and migrants. A rarely studied dimension of this phenomenon concerns the discrimination that takes place at these borders on the basis of the exiles' origin, appearance or religion. The Racial Borders symposium aims to critically explore what we might call the " racialization of borders " in several national contexts on four continents. The confrontation of these different configurations leads to a broader reflection on the forms of inequality that borders generate.
The symposium is in English with simultaneous translation.
