Clément Sanchez, Professor Emeritus at the Collège de France, Chair of Chemistry of Hybrid Materials, and Professor at the University of Strasbourg (Institut d'Etudes Avancées - USIAS), is the winner of the Grand Prix 2024 of the Fondation de la Maison de la Chimie, jointly awarded to Pr Egbert Meijer.
The Grand Prix de la Fondation de la Maison de la Chimie is awarded for an original work concerning chemistry, for the benefit of man, life, society or nature.
It will be awarded at a formal ceremony on Wednesday February 12 2025 at the Maison de la Chimie in Paris, during a symposium organized by the Foundation.
The prize honors a creative, interdisciplinary chemist at the interface between inorganic and organic chemistry, polymer chemistry and sol-gel science. An outstanding research director at the CNRS since 2011, he has received numerous national and international awards, including the IBM Prize in Materials Science, the Catalan-Sabatier Prize of the Spanish Royal Chemical Society, the Gay-Lussac-Alexander von Humboldt Prize, and the Eni Grand Prize for Environmental Protection. He is also a member of numerous academies, including the Académie des Sciences, the Académie des Technologies and the European Academy of Sciences.
